Dr. Kari Kubik, M.D., Urogynecologist and Kale Dement- Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist will present a seminar on nighttime urination in women, Tuesday, June 22nd at 12:00 noon at Parkway Medical Center in the Pavilion Classroom. The celebration of National Hospital Week began in 1921 when a magazine editor suggested that more information about hospitals might alleviate public fears about the “shrouded” institutions of the day. From that beginning, Hospital Week expanded to facilities across the nation. Today, National Hospital Week has grown into the nation’s largest health care event, paying tribute to the pride, professionalism and people of health care.
National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Often described as an art and a science, nursing is a profession that embraces dedicated people with varied interests, strengths and passions because of the many opportunities the profession offers. Nurses work in a variety of hospitals, emergency rooms and school based clinics to name a few. They have many roles – from staff nurse to educator to nurse practitioner and nurse researcher – and serve all of them with passion for the profession and with a strong commitment to patient safety.

Scale Back Alabama Weigh Outs are April 14th and 15th from 6:00am until 6:00pm both days at Parkway Medical Center in the Surgical Weight Loss Center.
If you are a Scale Back Alabama participant and would like a little extra encouragement and information, please join us each Thursday for a Mini Motivational Meeting. We will discuss the lesson provided by Scale Back Alabama for the week and what is and is not working for you. The meetings last about 20 to 30 minutes.
